Hello friends! I hope your day is going well.
I am in the market for a new desk. I’d particularly like an L-shaped desk, one that adjusts between sitting and standing. I’m a tall fella and my posture sucks.
One brand I keep coming across is FlexiSpot, but there are red flags across their website: constant “sales,” few negative reviews, and beyond their website, there are paid influencer reviews and unreliable reddit threads. Some seemingly reliable reviews I have found say the brand is actually quite good, and some videos show a fairly well-put-together desk. They also claim to have a 15-year warranty, but some negative reviews report to have trouble getting FlexiSpot’s customer service on the phone or responding to emails.
Other than FlexiSpot, when I search for adjustable l-shaped desks, there is nothing but dropship crap. Does anyone have any good experiences with name-brand desks like this?
(This community seemed like a good catch all for this kind of ask. Sorry if this kind of post is unwanted here.)
At my last job, I requested an L-shaped sit/stand desk, and my boss said to just order whatever on the company Amazon account. I ended up with some no-name dropshipped crap since I just wanted it fast and it wasn’t my money so just picked the first thing that came up. It was actually good enough that they bought like 10 more for other people, and it worked great and was cycled between sitting and standing several times a day every weekday for 4 years. Nobody who got one ever had a problem. It was one of the simpler models that had just an “up” and “down” control button, no fancy height memory or whatever (which might be a good thing, less things to fail)
I would question the ethics of making the same purchase for myself, but with respect to the product itself, it was perfectly serviceable and worked great, and was definitely a great bang for your buck compared to a more expensive “name brand” desk.
This is good to know, thanks! I’ve just had some not-so-pleasant experiences with dropship stuff, I try to avoid it nowadays which feels like a Herculean task. Everything is frickin dropshipped these days…
